It’s summer 2021, and you’re off on your staycation.
You get out your trusty AA roadmap and flick to your destination. You track the route and write down the directions on a scrap of paper.
Mixtape, thermos of coffee and a last-minute visit to the loo, and you’re good to go, right?
Well, no – or at least, not since about 1996.
Why would you make life harder when there’s now a better way to get there? – a way that knows about road closures and traffic.
You wouldn’t – you’d use Google, or Waze, or your car’s satnav.
That’s what I love about technology – it makes us more efficient, saves time and makes our lives easier.
It gives us a better way.
But in the world where I spend most of my time – the world of edtech and parent communication, the better way hasn’t always been an option.
For example, thousands of schools still have to communicate with parents through one platform and collect payments from them using another.
It’s workable, but it’s not how you’d design it from scratch.
If that’s you, and you’re still running two separate systems for communication and collecting money, I have good news – you can ditch your roadmap, and your payments provider, because Parent Hub has a better way…
The better way
From now on, you can message parents, and request payments from them, all on the same platform – saving you an administrative headache and giving your parent community an easier time.
At Parent Hub HQ we’re incredibly excited about it! Here’s why we think it’s a game-changer:
1. It’s super simple
In under 60 seconds, you can set up a payment request and let parents know about it.
Trips, uniforms, equipment, clubs, dinner money – you name it.
There’s no separate account for parents to create – everything happens inside the Parent Hub app.
You send a message directly to parents through your app, and they can pay in a few clicks. Parent Hub is compatible with GooglePay and ApplePay.
Our pilot school data shows:
- More parents pay
- Parents pay faster
2. It’s a piece of cake to manage
If you’re using 2 systems at the minute, you probably know the drill.
The request has been live for a few days, and it’s time to chase the parents who haven’t paid.
You log into your payments provider to pull up a list. Then you have to open your communication platform to send them a reminder.
The joy of using Parent Hub is that you can do all this in one place. Within 5 seconds you can see who’s paid and who still owes.
Two clicks later you’ve sent out your reminders.
3. It’s a breeze to set up
We spend lots of time making everything in Parent Hub easy to do, and payments is no different.
There’s no setup fee, or lengthy process to go through.
It takes less than five minutes to create an account (seriously, we’ve timed it ⏱ ), and you can be receiving payments in 10 minutes.
If you’re already a Parent Hub school, you can get started for free. Just go to the payments option in the navigation bar and tap ‘Get started.’
And if you’ve already got a payments provider but want to see what all the fuss is about, why not run a test? I promise you won’t regret it.

Happy sending (and collecting)!
