1 Who are we?
Parent Hub is a trading name of Nexus Software Platforms Ltd. Parent Hub is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under Data Protection Registration Number ZA051179.
We provide a smartphone app-based communications platform that helps schools and teachers communicate with parents more conveniently.
2 What data do we process and how do we use it?
Parent Hub collects two types of information about you:
1. Information that you voluntarily provide by registering for and using the service.
2. Information collected automatically as a result of you using the service.
The types and amount of information we collect depends on whether you are a teacher or a parent and are explained in more detail in the sections below.
2.1 Information you provide to us
2.1.1 Account Creation and Profile Information
Parent Hub collects the minimal amount of personal information from parents and teachers necessary to create accounts on our service. We ask everyone for an email, which is used for account creation, verification and login as well as a name so you can see who messages are being sent to or received from. This name is entered by you when completing your profile and, as such, Parent Hub has no control over its accuracy.
We will use the information collected during registration to contact you with service updates, reminders and information about any new Parent Hub features or services. We will not disclose any personal information to any third party, except for those required by law, unless you have opted in to email marketing by our partner companies at the time of registering for the service.
2.1.2 Class/Group Information
Teachers, when using the service, create ‘Channels’ which may represent class groups or school teams, for example. The name of a Channel is defined by the teacher and the accuracy of the Channel name is the responsibility of that teacher.
2.1.3 Inviting others
Teachers can invite parents and other teachers to join Parent Hub. To do this, teachers enter the email address of the person they wish to invite. These email addresses are stored by Parent Hub and will be used to send an invitation email to the invited person. Accuracy of the entered email address is the responsibility of the teacher entering.
2.1.4 Sending posts
Teachers can broadcast messages, which may also include documents and pictures, to the parents who have signed up for the service and opted to subscribe to the teacher’s Channel(s). Teacher’s profile pictures, if created, are shared with these parents on each one of these posts. All content posted by a teacher is the responsibility of that teacher and Parent Hub do not check this content. The content of all messages, including attachments, is stored by Parent Hub, to provide the service and to help teachers keep a log of their communication with parents.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Like most online services, we may automatically receive and store information from your browser or smartphone app whenever you use the service. For example, we may record the frequency and duration of your visits to Parent Hub, or the number of times you click on particular buttons. If you use Parent Hub on different devices, we may link the information we collect from those devices together to help us provide a consistent service across those different devices.

We use both session and persistent cookies: a session cookie disappears after you close your browser; a persistent cookie remains after you close your browser (although it can be removed) and may be used by your browser to identify you on subsequent visits to the Service. 2.2.2 Device Information
We collect device-specific information such as your device type, operating system, hardware version and signal strength. This helps us to see how Parent Hub is performing on your particular device, so we can improve the service for you and others using the same sort of device.
3 What do we do with this data?

– Providing and improving the Parent Hub service;
– Contacting you to respond to support requests or to provide proactive technical or other support;

4 Will Parent Hub share any information it collects?
4.1 Sharing with Third Parties
When registering, parents and teachers are asked if they want to receive information from Parent Hub’s carefully selected partners. These may include companies or organisations that provide products or services for teachers or parents that we think you may find useful.
Unless you choose to opt-in to receiving information from these third parties, Parent Hub will never share your information, unless necessary to do so to comply with the law.
4.2 Sharing with Nexus Software Platforms’ Companies
4.3 Change of control
In the unlikely event that Parent Hub goes out of business, or files for bankruptcy, we will protect your personal information and will not sell it to any third party.
5 Where is my data stored?
Parent Hub is a cloud-hosted service, which means that we do not run the service from, or store any data on, servers belonging solely to us. Instead, data is hosted by Microsoft on their Azure cloud platform. Microsoft or its affiliates cannot access any of the data collected or processed by Parent Hub.
